There’s something about Mother’s Day that calls for a slower, more intentional kind of morning.
Not necessarily grand plans or perfectly set tables, but small, thoughtful moments. Coffee made for her before she asks. A table set with care. Something warm from the oven. A gift that feels considered, not rushed.
At Grace & Company, we’ve always believed that the most meaningful gifts are the ones that become part of everyday life, pieces she’ll reach for again and again, long after the day has passed.
Whether you’re hosting, visiting, or simply spending the day together, here are a few ideas to make it feel special.
A Mother’s Day Morning, Set Simply
Start with the table.
Soft pink tones, fresh flowers, and a few thoughtful details go a long way. Our Françoise Paviot cocktail napkins in Banda Rose or Fleur d’Oranger bring a subtle, elegant touch, something she might not buy for herself, but will love having on hand for hosting.
Pour something light and celebratory, fresh juice or a simple mimosa, into a beautiful LSA champagne coupe. There’s something about a coupe glass that instantly elevates even the simplest drink.
And for serving? The Casafina Porto pitcher in Sea Salt is one of those pieces that works for everything, from morning juice to water at the table, to flowers later in the day.
A Recipe to Share
If you’re cooking for her, or cooking together, this Tuscan Tomato Bake is the kind of dish that feels special without being complicated.
It’s simple, flavourful, and perfect for a relaxed brunch or light lunch.

Tuscan Tomato Bake (serves 4)
- 4 ripe whole tomatoes
- 4 slices of Italian prosciutto
- 2 large buffalo mozzarella
- 4 large leaves of fresh basil
- 2 Tbsp capers
- Sea salt and fresh pepper
- 2 Tbsp white wine vinegar
- 3 Tbsp good olive oil
Instructions:
Wrap each tomato in prosciutto and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or dish. Cut a small “X” on top of each tomato (to prevent bursting while cooking). Drizzle with a bit of olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake at 350°F for 15–20 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare your plates with fresh basil leaves. Tear the mozzarella into chunks and arrange on the basil. Once the tomatoes are ready, place them on top and finish with capers, a drizzle of olive oil, and a splash of white wine vinegar.
Serve warm, with good bread on the side.
For baking and serving, the Costa Nova Livia rectangular baker is perfect, something she can use for everything from weekend recipes to casual dinners.
Gifts She’ll Actually Use (and Love)
Mother’s Day gifts don’t need to be complicated. The best ones are the ones that slip easily into her routine.
If she loves to cook, or wants to spend more time in the kitchen, the Donna Hay Basics to Brilliance cookbook is a beautiful place to start. It’s equal parts inspiration and practicality, with recipes she’ll come back to often.
For something more personal, consider a few small luxuries:
- Rue de Marli No. 27 Body Oil – a simple way to bring a bit of calm into her daily routine
- Lothantique Pamplemousse Soap & Lotion – fresh, light, and perfect for the kitchen or bathroom
- Milk Linen Water Spray – a quiet luxury, adding a soft scent to linens and laundry
These are the kinds of pieces that don’t feel like “special occasion” items, but quietly make everyday life feel a little more elevated.
Bringing It All Together
Mother’s Day doesn’t need to be overthought.
A simple meal. A beautifully set table. A gift chosen with care.
Whether you’re gathering with family, hosting brunch, or just dropping by with something thoughtful in hand, it’s these small details that tend to stay with us.
